Naval Air Station LeMoore is home to the Strike Fighter Wing Pacific and is the Navy’s largest master jet base. NAS LeMoore has two parallel runways. In operation since 1961, NAS LeMoore is the newest air station in the United States Navy. NAS LeMoore is located in Kings County, California. Housing at Naval Air Station LeMoore offers more than 1500 government homes, and wait times can be vary from one month to one year. Several neighborhoods are available that offer two to four bedroom duplexes with single attached garages. For off-post housing, the military housing office can provide information on homes for sale or rent as well as apartment complexes. Neighborhoods include Coral Sea, Constellation, Midway, Carl Vinson, Reagan, and Stone Parks. All neighborhood housing is pet-friendly. Temporary lodging is provided by the Navy Lodge which offers over 70 rooms with kitchenettes. Reservations are taken 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can be made by calling 1-800-NAVY-INN. The Navy Lodge does allow pets, but no pets are allowed in the bachelor’s barracks. RV Lodging is also provided by the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Department.
There are no Department of Defense schools located on Naval Air Station LeMoore. The Kings County school district has over 2,000 elementary schools, and some school schedules continue year-round. High school students who live on the air station are bused to LeMoore High School. Where the student lives determines where the child will attend school. There are two elementary schools located on Naval Air Station Lemoore that serve children from kindergarten through the eighth grade. The Child Development Center at NAS LeMoore is located in Building 964 and offers full time children care for those ages 6 weeks to 5 years. In-home child care is also provided and in high demand. Approximately 15 homes currently provide in-home care. For more information regarding specific programs or how to sign up for in-home care, call the Child Development Center at 559-998-4918. The Child Development Homes Program is located inside the Child Development Center.
